Tennis court maintenance

Tennis court maintenance, payment and contracts
It was discussed about the concern of the procedure used for hiring tennis court maintenance personnel and board approval of TCM (tennis court maintenance) person.
Based on any contract that is set up by NEMRD, a vote to accept the contract is required.  TCM jobs were sent to the final 2 interested parties: Abeyta and Wirtzfeld.  Gallagher and Bell were not interested.  The interested parties were interviewed on Sat. May 12 by Preston.  On Monday May 13, 10:25 pm, a contract was sent and signed by Preston Faiks to Abeyta with no contact with the board.  A second contract was sent to Wirtzfeld with a request to the board to budget an extra $100 per month for 4 months for hiring Wirtzfeld.
The contracts were not binding due to the lack of a motion and vote from the NEMRD board.  The board met on 5/22/2019 to discuss new contracts and a solution to the situation.
Discussion:  Both parties: Abeyta and Wirtzfeld feel they have the job to take care of the courts due to contracts that were sent out and signed by Preston.  The contracts signed by the parties has not been produced yet.  There are only 3 months (June, July, August) left for TCM.  Two families feel they hold this job, they are only working ½ the time and should only receive compensation for this amount of time.  A common calendar would need to be arranged for who will be responsible for what time frame. A solution to offer both parties the job as a shared job for the remaining 3 months (June, July, August) for a compensation of $75 per month per party.
Motion by Peggy: TCM will be provided for 3 months (June, July, August 2019) by Abeyta and Wirtzfeld at the rate of $75 per month to each family plus a pool membership.   Total: $225 for each family.  Total cost to board: $450.   Seconded: Janice   Vote: 3 yes, 0 no;  Motion passed
Peggy will contact Abeyta and Wirtzfeld about new contract offer due to the oversight of a board motion and vote.  Job will start June 1 and go through August 31, 2019.  Meeting will need to be set up to sign contracts, review calendar and job duties.  If one party does not want to accept the new contract, the other party will be offered the contract of $100 per month for 3 months.
Discussion of when to pay will be discussed at the June meeting.  Past payment has been made at end of season/contract in one lump sum if determined that job was done correctly.
